October, 2016: Important news for Tucson Stryker Hip Replacement Patients
On August 29, 2016 Stryker Orthopaedics issued Urgent Medical Device Recall Notification to orthopedic surgeons. Certain sizes of LIFT™ Anatomic CoCr V40™ Femoral Heads manufactured prior to 2011 are affected. A taper lock, which connects the femoral head to the neck is faulty. If you've had a total hip replacement with hardware that includes this part you will receive notification from Stryker or your surgeon. You need an attorney to help you receive proper remedy.
The Recall Notification lists the following potential problems for patients:
- loss of mobility
- pain requiring revision surgery
- inflammatory response
- adverse local tissue reaction
- joint instability
- revision to alleviate hazardous situation
- pain associated with implant loosening
- periprosthetic fracture
